/00TL;DR
Agoge stores everything on your device, and backs it up to your own iCloud account. Dead Simple has no servers involved — not for storage, not for backups, not for anything. If you let Agoge read from Apple Health, that data is brought into the app on your device and stays there. We never see any of it, there are no analytics, and there are no user accounts.
/01Who we are
Agoge is built by Dead Simple Technologies LLC ("we", "us"), an indie app studio based in Florida, USA. You can reach us at [email protected].
/02What Agoge stores
- Workout data, settings, progress: stored locally on your device. We never see it.
- Accounts: there are no accounts to make.
- Analytics & telemetry: none. We don't know how often you open the app or what you do in it.
- Crash reports: Apple may collect anonymous crash data if you opted in to share it with developers in iOS Settings. We see aggregated stack traces only — never anything that identifies you.
- Apple Health data: only if you allow it, and only on your device. See Apple Health below.
- Backups: saved to your own iCloud account. See iCloud backups below.
- Cookies, trackers, fingerprinting: none. There's no web view doing anything sneaky.
/03Apple Health
Agoge can read data from Apple Health to power features in the app, such as step tracking. This is entirely optional — Agoge only asks once you use a feature that needs it, and only reads the categories you approve.
- It stays on your device. Health data is brought into Agoge on your device and kept there, along with the rest of your Agoge data. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- We never see it. Dead Simple has no servers and no way to access your Health data.
- No advertising, no selling, no sharing. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties.
- You're in control. You can change or revoke Agoge's access at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Health.
/04iCloud backups
Agoge backs up your data — workouts, progress, settings, and any Health data the app has brought in — to your own iCloud account, alongside the rest of your iCloud data. This lets you restore Agoge on a new device or after reinstalling.
That backup lives in your iCloud account, under your Apple ID. Apple stores it; Dead Simple does not. We have no access to it, and no Dead Simple servers are involved at any point. Apple's own privacy policy applies to data stored in iCloud.
/05Payments
Agoge is a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple handles your payment details — we never see them. The store sends us a notification that a purchase happened, and your device verifies it locally; that's it.
/06Third parties
Agoge does not share data with third parties. Apple is involved only where you'd expect: App Store purchases, Apple Health on your device, and backups to your iCloud account. Apple's own policies apply to those.
/07Your rights
Since your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, you control it completely. Deleting the app removes the data from your device; to remove the backup too, delete Agoge's data from your iCloud storage in iOS Settings. You don't need to email us to request deletion — we don't have a copy.
If you live somewhere with privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) those rights still apply, but most of them — access, deletion, portability — are already in your hands by default.
/08Children
Agoge isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
/09Changes
If we ever change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and ship the new version with a future app update. If a change is meaningful, we'll note it visibly in-app.
